Target Toy Clearance

Twice a year, in January and July, Target seems to almost completely clear out their toys and restock with new inventory.  Then they discount the clearance toys up to 75% off!  I have shopped these sale for the past few years to stock up for future Christmases and birthdays.

Right now my Target store has an aisle of toys ranging from 30%-70% off. There are also clearance deals online, but a lot of popular items are already sold out.  You also do have to pay shipping online, unless you have a $50 minimum order.

In store, selection of course varies.  When I'm shopping, I look at the 75% off first for the best bargains, even if they are random items that I'll stick in my gift stash for an unknown future use.  However, even if I don't have a use in mind, I have to like the items, and that usually means sorting through a lot of outdated movie toys to find the few gems.

My kids birthdays are all in August and September, so I might also be willing to purchase items at a smaller discount if it is something that would be a good birthday present.  This week at 30% off, my Target had some baby dolls, play food, and other nicer items.  There is definitely more selection at the lesser discount levels.  I wouldn't expect any decent selection of items to last past this week or next, so definitely hurry if you're in the market for toys.

My best past bargain from Target's toy clearance was this playhouse for about $12, which my girls have been using with their play kitchen for a couple of years now.  That's the fun thing about clearance sales, you never know what you might find!

Have you gotten toys on clearance at Target in the past?
