Freezer Cooking Plan

Sorry I'm a little late in posting my freezer cooking plans.  I ended up taking this cold, snowy weekend off and not doing very much of anything!  However, I did start a little of my freezer cooking over the weekend, and I'm doing more today and tomorrow.

My list this month is more for inspiration than anything else.  I"m just doing what I can over the next couple of days and not adhering to too much of a schedule.  (We took half the morning off to play in the snow!) What I don't make today and tomorrow, I'll probably make over the week or next week.

Here are my ideas:

Already started or completed:
- Roasted turkey (for dinners, sandwiches, soup, and frozen meat)
- Homemade doughnuts (this is an upcoming post in itself!)
- Homemade hot pockets

Still to make:
- Banana bread
- Blueberry muffins
- Onion bagels
- Valentine's fudge
- Macaroni and cheese (individually frozen for lunches)

I'll share pictures of the results over the next few days!  And definitely look for my upcoming post, "Adventures in Doughnut Making!"

Other bloggers shared their plans for Freezer Cooking Days over at Money Saving Mom.

  2. Here's the link to my blog post about making bagels (which links to the official recipe):

For the onion bagels, I haven't tried it yet, but my idea is do just use dried onion flakes (from the spice section of the grocery store) as a topping. We'll see how it works.

  4. Anon - I take no credit for either!

The hot pockets are from a guest post on MoneySavingMom:

The fudge is just the recipe from the jar of marshmallow fluff, with which I had good success at Christmas. Add some Valentine's sprinkles and voila - Valentine fudge!
