Again this year for a limited time, Target stores are carrying the Retro editions of five favorite General Mills Big G cereals, complete with authentic "retro" package designs and cartoons from the '50s, '60s, and '70s. These special edition boxes are only available until mid-March!
All the boxes have authentic Retro designs, as well as games and activities on the boxes. For even more fun, you can go to GrocerySavvy.com to watch authentic retro cartoons, such as Underdog, King Leonardo, and Dennis the Menace. You can also print coupons for General Mills products!
Today I'm highlighting the Special Edition Honey Nut Cheerios box - from 1984.
Wow - I have to admit, I was only one year old in 1984! I actually really like Honey Nut Cheerios now as an adult. It's the wholesomeness of Cheerios with just a little extra yumminess. :-)
The Retro edition box has a fun "In search of the lost treasure" maze on the back to amuse your kids (or yourself) during breakfast.

I don't have a favorite memory of honey nut cheerios, but it has always been my favorite of the cheerios line. I usually eat my cereal dry, so the sweetness really gives it a great and distinct flavor!

One time, I wasn't paying attention and I bought Honey Nut Cheerios instead of regular Cheerios. Wow - the look on my son's face was priceless! This was his favorite food for a LONG time after that!
