This is the fifith and final giveaway of five General Mills giveaways this week. Enter the others here, here, here, and here.
Again this year for a limited time, Target stores are carrying the Retro editions of five favorite General Mills Big G cereals, complete with authentic "retro" package designs and cartoons from the '50s, '60s, and '70s. These special edition boxes are only available until mid-March!
All the boxes have authentic Retro designs, as well as games and activities on the boxes. For even more fun, you can go to GrocerySavvy.com to watch authentic retro cartoons, such as Underdog, King Leonardo, and Dennis the Menace. You can also print coupons for General Mills products!
Today I'm highlighting the special edition Lucky Charms box, from 1989. Lucky Charms is my husband's absolute favorite cereal. Let's just say he was very, very happy that we were receiving this General Mills gift pack. I have to say, Lucky Charms is pretty good - it's sort of like the wholesomeness of Cheerios - but with marshmallows!
The retro cereal pack has on the back 'Catch the Leprechaun' - A new "Maze Race" game you can play right now."
Remember, you can buy all the Retro cereals at Target stores, but you also have a chance to win some for free! Thanks to General Mills, I am giving away a fourth Big G Retro cereal gift pack, which includes one each of the five special edition cereals, plus a $10 Target gift card!

ReplyDeleteEvery time we got a sample box of Lucky Charms in the mail I remember just how enticing it looked! It didn't taste quite as good as it looked, but I didn't mind too much.
ReplyDeleteGoogle reader!

ReplyDeleteI love GM cereals and have such fond memories growing up as a child eating them for breakfast. I remember we only got the sugary cereals for very special treats as we never had extra money to spurge so it was always a good break from the pots of oatmeal when we would see the red box in the pantry. I remember diving the charm marshmallows and ALWAYS eating them first and loved how the milk would change color. It's great to see my nephews enjoy Lucky Charms as much as their mother and I did -hence it's always cereal saturday when they sleep over and I would love to have more cereals for them and I to enjoy! Thank you for this chance!

Oh my wonderful Lucky Charms...I wasn't allowed to have them at my house, but when I stayed over at my friend's house, I'd have two bowls. They were my absolute favorite forbidden food.

ReplyDeleteI remember eating all the marshmallow and leaving the cereal part in the box. My mom was so mad she made us eat the cereal plain and wouldn't buy Lucky Charms for the longest time.
ReplyDeleteLucky Charms is one of my whole family favorites. I have many memories of my kids hunting through the box and taking all the marshmellows out. I also have many memories of our whole family sitting at the kitchen table and enjoying our breakfast together, along with Lucky Charms.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.

My favorite memorie of lucky charms is on the rare occasion I would be able to have them at a friends. My mom wouldnt buy such a "sugary" cereal for us. We didnt have a lot growing up so couldnt afford to buy as a snack. I love getting down to just marshmellows and milk in the bowl. Hmmm now I buy Lucky Charms as a snack for my son :) ( and of course me too! )

ReplyDeleteMy mom wouldn't buy these very often, but when she did, the first thing I'd do is dig out all the marshmallows before eating the rest of the cereal.

When my daughter was learning to talk, she never bothered learning words everyone else used - she just made up her own lingo. One day she told me she wanted the pink cereal. PINK Cereal???? What could that possibly be?! Now, this is the same child who raved about this bread that was white that she'd had at a friend's house. It only took me 6 months to find out that she wasn't talk about a bread that was white - she was talking about plain old white bread, which she had never had because we only have 100% whole wheat.
ReplyDeleteAnyway... I took her to the grocery store to see if she could find her pink cereal, and she walked right over to the Lucky Charms! PINK?!! The hearts are pink, but nothing else is! But I'll always remember that whenever I see Lucky Charms.
